AIPMT or All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Test is an entry level examination for 15% merit positions in Government Medical / Dental Colleges run by the Union of India. The exam is conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) for admission to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) courses. From 2014, NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) has also been merged with JEE.
AIPMT is objective in nature, i.e. based on MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions). AIPMT examination is segmented into three categories -
Four marks are alloted for each correct response. One mark is deducted for each incorrect response. No deduction is made for not providing a response.
